Nervous system is a compound network of nerve cells and nerve fibers that transmit messages to and from the brain and spinal cord to different parts of the body. It mainly consists of two parts, central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS). CNS includes brain and spinal cord and PNS includes cranial and spinal nerve fibers. There is a special part of nervous system which is autonomic nervous system that comprises sympathetic nervous system, parasympathetic nervous system and enteric nervous system (to control muscular activities of GIT).
