When to admit in ICU (Intensive Care Unit):

Any patient should be admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) when he/she fulfill one or more of the following criteria-

1. When patient needs or may need endotracheal intubation and invasive mechanical ventilation.
2. When patient needs support for two or more organ systems.
3. When patient has chronic impairment of one or more organ systems and needs support for acute reversible failure of another organ system.
