Definition of enteric fever:

Enteric fever is an acute systemic illness which is characterized by fever, headache, abdominal discomfort, altered bowel habit (constipation or diarrhea) and is caused by Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi A and Salmonella paratyphi B.
