Clinical medicine is an important part in medicine. Each & every medical student and doctor should have vast knowledge about it. A good and an efficient doctor is able to identify the elements from history taking and clinical examination, to order the appropriate laboratory investigations and to extract the key results to diagnose the disease correctly. Here clinical medicine is described in following two headings-

1. History Taking

The history of a disease should include all the events of medical significance in the life of the patient. For the details about History Taking- click here.

2. Clinical Examination

The objective of the clinical examination is to identify the physical signs of a disease. The clinical examination should be performed methodically and thoroughly. Although attention of the doctor is often directed by the history to the concerned organ or part of the body, the examination of the patient must extend from head to toe to find out the abnormalities in the body.
